When we reach our goal, I look forward to placing the order for the coats and blankets, which is only made possible by all of you. I am wondering something. Every Sunday on our way to rehearsal for "A Christmas Carol", we walk 8th ave to Ripley Grier Studios. Passing 34th street, and maybe there is a miracle on the way, there is a woman that appears to be living on the sidewalk. Every time I pass her, I whisper, she needs some blankets, she needs a coat. I wonder if seeing her every Sunday gave me a rough sleep Tuesday night leading me to launch the ACC Kickstarter again. Homelessness is at an all time high since the Great Depression, especially for children. The numbers are staggering, which brings to mind Jeeves statement to Scrooge, "Mr. Scrooge, it is a popular time that those fortunate enough should make some contributions to those who suffer. Many thousands are in need of food, shelter, and basic needs". At the end of that encounter, Scrooge basically says "they had better die and decrease the surplus population". Yes, a "hard and bitter man", but if there is Hope for Scrooge, then there is Hope for all of us. Any heart can melt when under the warmth of the Light.
